I reckon the Coll-X website is pretty effing awesome. The ability to submit
content is pretty nifty, the forums are good and if we can get back to checking
in once a week at least it can get some life back in it. This is especially
true if we can get a simple, low bandwidth thumbnail gallery that links to
bigger versions (but not giant DSLR resolution ones). Plus, the caravan needs a
homepage for others to come and bask in the glory.
So, lets get it on.
I’m reinstating the Forum as a means of communicating while
at work. Initial topics to be opened today/tomorrow/soon:
1. Bicycle riding on the weekends 2. Caravan renovations for 2010 3. Albury 2010 4. random awesomeness – don’t facebook it, stick it on the forum. 5. The nick-name committee reconvenes – New players, means
new nicknames. Includes discussion of current nicknames.
That’s right people, summer is back with a vengeance, and it’s time to start sweating out the results of all those barbeques and Sunday sessions. Having entered men’s, women’s and vet’s teams, we have already enjoyed a fantastic response to all three calls to arms. With light-hearted play and no training, summer hockey is the ideal opportunity to encourage newcomers to the game to come down and try their hand at the sport. We welcome players of all standards (including those who have never held a stick before), and will always ensure they are made to feel welcome.
It’s getting to that time of year again …
preseason time. I’m excited. This year it’s going to be HUGE. Al Ramsay has
agreed to take us for a series of hockey specific fitness sessions on Monday
nights and Simon Kessler will run strength, speed and skill sessions on
Wednesday nights. We’ll start turf training at Monash on Wed 10th March.
This is a great opportunity for all of us
to improve our fitness, even if you are just starting out. The sessions will be open to people of all
abilities and fitness levels and will be a lot of fun. Best of all you won’t
need to pay for a gym membership to get fit, just come on down. Remember, the
more the merrier.
